Who am I? Tweet me!
May has been officially declared as the "Interviewing the Indies" month. As such, all month there will be posts containing interviews with indie authors. Today's guest is Taylor Lavati, author of The Thousand Year Curse.
What do you have published?
My first book, The Thousand Year Curse will be published in August 2013. It is a older young adult following Ryder, a small town girl. She encounters Greek Gods and gets swept up in a curse she doesn't remember.
What are you currently working on?
The second book, The Curse of Betrayal.
How do you stay motivated?
My ideas keep me motivated. I have dreams and thoughts, and I need to put them to paper. Also when I have a really good idea, I want to share it before someone else thinks it up!
What has been the most challenging aspect of being an indie author?
Doing it all by myself. I had to find my own cover artist, find my own people to beta read, hire my own editors, set my own price. If the book fails, it's all on me.
As a writer, what is the one thing you cannot live without? Why?
My dog. He has a sixth sense with me. He knows when I am getting run down and distracts me. I believe he is my muse. I use him a lot when I'm writing!
