Holy crap! I can't believe that it was three years ago today that I started a little blog on blogger called Curse Books and began this INSANE journey of wanting to be a writer. It's crazy to think back to three years ago and remember the mind frame I was in. I didn't know a single person in the industry, I didn't know if I should have an editor or go on a blog tour or pay someone to make my cover. All I knew was that I had a freaking amazing plot idea and damnit, I was going to write a book no matter what.
There's not too much to say about the early days in 2013, other than they were a mess. I was hopelessly in love with the idea of publishing my first book. I worked so hard on every aspect of my first book, The Thousand Year Curse. But there was a moment that I realized it wasn't enough. I needed an editor to help me. I needed a cover artist to design the front. I liked bouncing ideas off friends who knew more about publishing than me. It was a learning process to get where I am now, but damn if the ride wasn't a freaking blast. Live and learn, and I have most definitely done both.
New to the blog?
There have been a ton of changes to the blog and website over the years. I started with plain old blog posts asking weirdo questions like what do you think about this sex scene? Is his penis big enough? Yes, I just went through my old page and those were serious real questions. Like what the f was wrong with me? LOL! Anyways, like I said above this entire thing, even the blogging is a learning experience. And I'm still learning, so bear with me. And if you have suggestions, shoot them to me!
Flashback Fridays are going to be a thing now. Every Friday I am going to do a post about my week and tell you guys how many words I wrote, what I'm working on, if I did takeovers I'll talk about those. It's going to be free form and I'm just going to chat with you all. Simple enough.
Writing Wednesdays will be back! Yep, you heard right. The only difference is that sometimes my street team ladies are going to takeover and write up a post. I'm excited that you'll all get to meet them a little deeper. Their posts can be about anything, so sometimes it may not be writing related, but just about them or their struggle or a message they need to get off their chest. I'm giving them free reign. I'll post a schedule next month!
What'd you do last year?
What will 2016 bring?
...A LOT! There is so much going on with me but as usual, the main thing I'll be doing is writing. No matter what life throws at me, writing is always the constant so don't worry, more books are on the horizon. What's first you may ask?
I'll also be at several amazing events with books ready to sign and awesome swag. Some of you got to meet me at my local signings, but these are on a whole different scale. I can't wait to meet those of you from farther away. Angels and Sirens is going to be a blast!!
