I have attended two *three* book signings, Romance Rendezvous and North Iowa Book Bash. Both of these were so much fun! I attended my first one, Romance Rendezvous, as Jade Eby's "assistant". I had no idea what to expect but it was so much better than I could have imagined. I met a lot of great authors and had so much fun getting my books signed!
The second signing I attended was North Iowa Book Bash about two months ago. I was able to attend this one as Bria Starr's assistant. This was an all day signing and had a lot better turn out then the previous signing I had attended. However, this time I "knew" what to expect! I got to meet such authors as Pam Godwin, Rachel Smith, Micki Fredricks, Bethany Lopez and Maggi Myers as well as many more, and I got to see Bria Starr (obviously) again as well as KJ Farnham, Amanda Maxlyn, Stacey Lynn and Amalie Silver. I also got to see Jennifer Ann in action, who is a local author for me, as she only lives about five miles from me. She also happens to be one of my very favorite authors. If you haven't read any of her books, do yourself a favor and go get Adam's List or Brooklyn Rockstar.
I am completely blown away by the friendships I have made since I started reading indie published novels. These girls/authors that I have met (whether in person or just on Facebook) the past year and a half are nothing short of amazing. I am so honored to be able to call some of them friends. Their talent is mind blowing to me and I would put them up against any traditionally published author.
I have also included a review of one of my favorite books by one of my favorite authors for your enjoyment.
Brooklyn Rockstar by Jennifer Ann
Jennifer Ann writes an amazingly emotional rockstar romance that contains more than just "rockstar" elements for lack of a better word. Charlie is in fact swoon worthy by the middle to end of the book. I will be honest, when I first started it I thought he was your typical rockstar. Add in Evelyn who is your not so typical small town farm girl and WOW what a combination. You would think Evelyn would be a bit gullible considering where she comes from, but that is not the case. You also can't help but love Sharlo and Katie. Jennifer does a great job of making her characters very likable and realistic. Anyway....enough about that.
Brooklyn Rockstar is the story of an innocent in every sense of the word small town farm girl (Evelyn) who takes the first step in making her dreams come true by moving to NYC to live with her friend Sharlo. Sounds simple enough until you add in the Rockstar (Charlie) who sets his sites on Evelyn after spotting her in the crowd at one of his shows. Then add in a trouble making/spiteful reporter by the name of Gwen (who you'll grow to hate) and Charlie's wild/fun/crazy sister Katie, Charlie's manager/friend Lorenzo oh and Evelyn's over protective brothers and you have one heck of a plot brewing. Will Evelyn and Charlie be able to make it work? Will Gwen ruin Charlie's career as well as his budding relationship with Evelyn? Will Lorenzo be able to keep Charlie out of trouble and get his career back on track? Will Evelyn's brothers cause trouble for her and Charlie? Will Evelyn get her happily ever after with Charlie? Guess you'll have to pick up this steamy read to find out!

What Readers Have to Say...
"An absolutely heart wrenching read that shows us that at times no matter how much we hope, darkness will find its way to win. "
-Blogger's From Down Under for A Reliant Love
"So this book is the ultimate love story. I like how two ordinary people who is so different and still so alike in so many ways can overcome everything together."
-Angelica Berglund for For The Love of Hockey
"I never thought I would read a "zombie book", much less love one. The Last Legacy really surprised me. Even with the whole people-eating-people thing, it was a fantastic book"
-Melannie S for The Last Legacy
"I could not wait to start book two. If this book was as good as book one, then I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. It wasn't as good as book one...it was better. "
-Keely Retchloff for Finding Sam
"The powers, the love, the excitement, the drama kept me so enthralled. If you are looking for a GREAT series about true love and mythology, look no further... I wish I could rate 10 stars! Definitely recommend this whole series to all my book loving friends!"
-The Book Blog for A Curse Books Trilogy
"For the Love of Ash" by Taylor Lavati was a rare 5-star read for me. I honestly find many typical romances rather dull and predictable. This was not the case at all here; there was nothing average about the romance, overall storyline, and the long list of supporting characters."
-Summer's Book Blog for For The Love of Ash
"Wingless isn't what I would normally pick up and read, but thought I'd try it out and I am so glad I did. The characters and "worlds" she creates are done so well that you can actually picture them and feel like you are there right along with the characters."
